Cornell Graduate Student Killed in Nicaragua

Cornell University graduate student Ryan Crowder was killed in Nicaragua Saturday night, the university announced Monday. Crowder, seeking a master’s degree in natural resources, had been working there since May, trying to help a group of small fisheries and their surrounding community. Gunmen in Mexico Drug War Getting Younger

Mexican police on Friday detained a minor accused of working as a gunman for a drug cartel after videos and photos surfaced online of fresh-faced boys mugging for the camera with guns and corpses. One video, briefly posted on YouTube, showed a youth, apparently in his teens, confessing to working for a branch of the Beltran Leyva cartel. Mexican Police Seek 2 in Falcon Lake Murder

Mexico police are searching for two suspects in the case of a U.S. citizen who disappeared during a sightseeing trip on the U.S.-Mexican border in South Texas, authorities said Monday. Demand State Department Give Tiffany Hartley a Presumptive Death Finding, No Matter What Mexico Finds or Doesn't Find

This is urgent: When an American disappears in a foreign country, even if it is obvious that the person is very likely dead, the State Department will not provide a presumptive death finding unless the family of the missing person first goes through the "local jurisdiction" - in Tiffany's case, Mexico.
