I must say, the embassy in Ecuador appears to be much more responsive to such matters than the embassy in Honduras. These processes need to be standardized and optimized!

At least one U.S. citizen is among a group of kidnapped bus passengers whose bodies could lie in a mass grave found in Mexico.U.S. officials confirmed in a statement on Sunday that an American man was one of those abducted by armed attackers on the Mexican border. At least five people were killed and two others wounded in a wave of violence in Acapulco, a resort city in the southern Mexican state of Guerrero, where gunmen engaged soldiers and police in a shootout, and set fire to a crafts market.
