What we know..

Owns aquarium/pet store in Matamoros, MX, and disappeared during the battles between the Mexican military and the Gulf Cartels and Zetas in that city, beginning on Nov.5, 2010. US Consulate has only ascertained that he is not in any hospital in that city or surrounding cities, and nothing more. They say they are not able to do any searching themselves but must rely on the Mexican authorities.

Yes, these sick sad people get their jollies out of seeing their comments disseminated for all to see. I don't comment on the posts because that is what they want... but if John chooses to live in Matamoros or not, he still deserves respect and to be found. John chooses to live in Matamoros because he can make a living with his own efforts and not live off SSI or food stamps or whatever and he chooses to live there to be an involved father in his children's lives. To live in the US when his children are in Matamoros would be unreasonable. Many times it takes several hours to cross the bridges there and should an emergency arise, like it did with his daughter that night, he might not be able to get there in time.

Deb: Get used to it. Every piece of news coverage that makes it to the web will IMMEDIATELY be commented upon by a string of "geniuses." Take the high road - respond intelligently and articulately. And I would urge all members of this community to do the same in support of John and any other missing people. We need to all have thick skins and gently dominate the conversation.

Someone commented about it being ridiculous for him being over there... apparently he missed the part about John LIVING there for the past four years....

Took Johns story to the news today. Maybe that will stir some awareness in the area and we  will hear something. Got a call back from the US Cons. office and they wanted to know if I would send them a copy of the Mexican police report that I went and filed there last week..........What a joke. They are in the same city and want me to cross the border and do all the work for them. What a waste of tax payers money.

Well finally had a reply from a  TV station in the valley wanting to know if I would talk on camera about what is happening here. This and the online article may be a start to get something or someone on the move around here.

The article is up online... please repost to anyone you can think of.....

Yes, when I talked to the reporter, I mentioned John's three children, living with his ex-wife, and I can mention his "ailing mother"... and sadly, you are correct about the attitudes... They are great at posturing, but when it comes to real action, they never seem to get anything accomplished...
