What we know..

Owns aquarium/pet store in Matamoros, MX, and disappeared during the battles between the Mexican military and the Gulf Cartels and Zetas in that city, beginning on Nov.5, 2010. US Consulate has only ascertained that he is not in any hospital in that city or surrounding cities, and nothing more. They say they are not able to do any searching themselves but must rely on the Mexican authorities.

Adriana it is so hard to get any information from anyone out of Mexico I am finding. You just have to stay in touch with them every day if need be and be a pain in there sides. Right now I cant tell you what to do as nothing seems to be working for me at this time. But the support you will find here will help you go on and maybe if enough people see this is a big problem we can get some answers. Have you emailed your senators or congressmen? That is a good place to get attention also.

I am sorry about what you are going thru also and hope we can stay in contact.

Hi Adriana... I am so sorry to hear about your dad being missing also. We contacted the American Consulate in Matamoros, MX, and filed a report there. Perhaps if it is more than just John missing there, someone will really start paying attention! We have had the best luck with Channel Five News reporter Farrah Fazal, she is a member of this site and would be interested in finding more information from you I am sure... Send her a message. You can also go to the URL http://www.krgv.com/news/local/story/Valley-Businessman-Missing-in-...   and near the top left is a link to "contact us" or "submit a story". I hope this will give you a starting place... Jeff Dunsavage, who started this website, is also a good source for How-Tos and you can message him through here also. And basically we have tried everything... email everyone you know and ask them to spread the word and contact their congress people. I hope this helps... let us know if we can help you further. John's mom, Deborah Parks, maybe have some additional names you can contact. You can also reach her here. Good Luck and keep in touch...

I think its just a play on words to easy my mind and make me feel better but its not gonna make me let off.

I guess high priority means they claim they are calling the MX police every day, whereas before they were waiting to hear from the police???
Comment by Jeff Dunsavage on December 27, 2010 at 6:21pm
Yeah, I'd like to know what "high-priority" means. How can we tell? Are they treating his case differently from others? and, if so, why?
Comment by Deborah Parks on December 27, 2010 at 6:19pm

Just a quick update on John. Have not gotten any good or bad news thru the holidays but did talk to the US Consulates office today and they informed me that this was a high priority case and they were staying in touch with Mx. ploice daily. Now what they mean by that who knows but we are still searching for some answers here and will not give up.

Thanks to you all for your support and prayers.

Deb and I spoke with Farrah Fazal of Channel 5 News (an ABC affiliate station) on Monday. The report ran today (Tuesday) with a brief teaser at 6, and the full story at 10 p.m. The printed story appears in part at this URL, the full broadcast version is on the video block to the right of the story.

Thank you Farrah!
