MAP Traffic Spikes on Texas TV Coverage

More than 100 people (most of them new visitors and most from Texas) visited the Missing Americans Project community after KRGV TV in Texas ran this story about John Parks' disappearance in Matamoros, Mexico.

It's not the biggest one-day spike we've had (over 500 people from all over the world visited after CNN ran a report about the search for David Gimelfarb). These are not big numbers in social media terms, but they are huge for those of us trying to call attention to the problems faced by the families of people who go missing outside their nation's borders. They also underscore the importance of traditional media in telling these stories and the extent to which social media can magnify that impact. Please keep pressing your media contacts and your elected officials to take an interest.
