Yes

Honduras
What is your interest in the Missing Americans Project?
Search logistics and fund raising, helping families plan ahead, save time and raise money. Educating travelers about the risks of international travel and how to best prepare.

My message is that there may not be any additional risk to your safety in one country or another since bad things happen all over the world. However, the ability to properly deal with a problem is the difference. You should know who you can and can not count on and how to properly prepare yourself and those closest to you since they will be the people helping you if something goes wrong. You don't have to be parnoid, just prepared.
