Search extended for N.J. couple who vanished in Barbados

Officials on Friday (6/28) said the search for a New Jersey couple who went missing in Barbados after heading out on a jet ski would be extended, nearly a week after they were last seen.

Efforts by air and sea to find Oscar Suarez, 32, and Magdalena Devil, 25, of Montclair, have so far yielded no trace of the pair or the rented watercraft, according to the Royal Barbados Police Force.

“Extensive searches are being continued,” a Friday afternoon update from police said.

Meanwhile, desperate family members traveled to Barbados and began passing along missing persons posters on the beach.

"We are overwhelmed and exhausted. More than anything, we our holding our faith that they will be found,” Suarez's sister Susanna Cruz told CNN.
