What is your interest in the Missing Americans Project?
I lost my husband on June 17, 2013. He was kayaking with my brother and sister-in-law while we were in vacation in Roatan. A search was made, but my husband's body was never found. I don't want to deal with the Honduran lawyers to get a Death Certificate as I do not trust them. I am going to lose my house soon. I have received benefits from Social Security via Missing Spouse and I am receiving my husband's Social Security, but, I am not able to sell my house, or, cash in my husband's insurance policies, which policies add up to about $20,000.00.

Yes, I would love to talk to someone who can at least advise me how I can get a Presumptive Death, so I can sell our home and cash in on the insurance policies. Any assistance would be helpful. The Honduran police and lawyers are corrupt - a lawyer wanted $2,000.00 retauber from me before I even left Honduras, when it takes 1 to 2 years to obtain a Death Certificate....................I can't imagine what the total cost would be.
