Also the lady at the consulates office told me to that I should go down there and look for her but i just do not have the funds

That is very bad advice in my opinion. Probably the safest thing would be to hire a private investigator that is familiar with Mexico. It would be costly , but so is a trip.there & you don't know where to look.it is too dangerous .
