Emilia: Please feel free to reach out to Carole directly (her profile includes her e-mail address) and mention my name. I know she's busy at work on an article right now, but I think the more she gets to know about cases like ours (Americans missing abroad) the more likely she might be to pitch a series or even a book on the topic. Re: billboards...I don't know. I would appreciate you providing any information you might gain on the subject because it could help a lot of our families with awareness building.
Best,
Jeff
P.S. I got your other note and will sign and promote the petition, soon as I get a few minutes to breathe.
Emilia: I'm afraid this is the way it goes -- the government gets involved on behalf of people who certain people of influence decide matter. Have you tried generating support among the veteran community, military families, and such? I will be happy to help tactically, but the trick is to create and sustain a base of support.
Drop me a note if you'd like to discuss further...

This just disgust me because it is just super unfair and very wrong of the US government to do shit like this; My heart goes out to the family of Wilson Ramos the baseball player who was kidnapped in Venezuela. However, My family is going through a similar situation with my brother Spc. Cesar Velez who was kidnapped a year ago in Ecuador. According to the story on CNN the FBI has offered to help with the investigation to help find the baseball player. He is not even a US citizen or in their jurisdiction and they are offering their service. Cesar Velez is not only a US citizen, but a war Veteran who served his country proudly. Not a single government agency has offered any kind of help like they did for a baseball player! My mother has begged for that kind of help from everyone under the sun including news broadcaster to at least make people aware, but then on deaf ears. SO UNFAIR!!! He better than a non citizen player should be of most importance. Let's start a petition or something.
