American Airline's Uncritical Promotion of Honduras as a Tourism Destination is the Height of Irresponsibility

This article in American Airlines' magazine, American Way, uncritically promotes Honduras as a tourism destination without providing even a perfunctory caveat about safety. This country's rampant and escalating crime problem warrants a full-blown travel advisory from the State Department, not more puff pieces looking to draw tourists and retirees to a location where violent, drug-related crime is on the upswing and there is no legal recourse for travelers who get into trouble there. Please do IN-DEPTH homework before you travel or invest in the Caribbean or Central America!
