Please Help the Dunsavage Family Help Joe's Kids

The Humphrey Family's Frustrating Wait

I just stumbled upon this BBC article about the maddening wait the family of Alex Humphrey, missing in Panama since August 2009, has had to endure to find out if a badly burned body found last year is Alex.

Alex's Mom, Gill Humphrey said: "We are meeting diplomatic blocks every time we move."

U.S. Customs Seize Machine Gun Bound for Mexico

Agents at the Pharr-Reynosa International Bridge found the .30 caliber browning machine gun on the backseat of a Hummer H3 headed to Reynosa, Mexico, last Friday and arrested the 21-year-old driver from Pharr, Texas, the Customs and Border Protection agency said in a news release. As Cartels Maintain Stronghold, Mexican Police Chief Taken Near Christmas Still Missing

Erika Gandara, police chief of Guadalupe, Mexico, has not been seen or heard from since being abducted two days before Christmas. Her predecessor was murdered and decapitated, his head was found in an ice chest. Gandara, 28, a single woman with no children, was the only applicant for the job and its salary of $580 per month.

Not a lot of information yet. I hate to be crass, and of course I am praying for Mr. Salkind and his loved ones, but I can't help wondering if a little bit of Hollywood appeal might FINALLY generate some  interest in the topic of Americans and others missing in Central America and the Caribbean.
