What is your interest in the Missing Americans Project?: My step daughter is a US Citizen. She was involved with an abusive man from Mexico, he fled back to Mexico after police filed felony assault charges against him for abusing her. He managed to re-gain her confidence and convinced her to pack up and move to Mexico with her 2 children ages 5 and 2. We have lost contact with her, no more emails or phone calls since 8/3/14. Very worried!!

Terrifying ordeal; Happy Ending!!

In May of 2014 my step-daughter left the US to go to Mexico to be with an abusive boyfriend. I didn't realize she was gone (I was recovering from bilateral hip replacement) until August when I couldn't contact her for weeks and weeks. I stopped by her place and ultimately called the police to do a "wellness check" on her. This is when I learned that she had left with her two daughters ages 2 1/2 and 5.

I found this site and Jeff Dunsavage was good enough to call me…

Welcome to MAP... I am sorry to hear of your missing loved one.. and I hope the members here can provide you support and direction. Among your priorities should be reporting the disappearance to both the FBI and the US Consular Service. Please also post as much information and pictures on this site as you can... It is seen by many more people than just our members and the more information available, the better chance of someone seeing it or remembering something. Good luck....
