I travel abroad, alone, frequently. I am particularly interested in hearing about Americans missing/killed in Central America. The press here in the states doesn't seem to publicize things like this as much as I'd like.

Thanks for joining, Samuel. You're right - the U.S. media don't report on these stories sufficiently, and when they do they treat every case in isolation and without real context. They don't do much to help us be smarter travelers or to know what help we can expect from our Embassies (short answer: approximately zero) if we or our family members get into trouble.
