What is your interest in the Missing Americans Project?
I am an American who haas moved to Costa Rica permanently about a year an a half ago. i would just like to know what ha been happening here. Of course I live in very safe area and have other cloe American friends who also live here.

Richard - Thanks so much for joining. I hope you will share your perspective and insight and invite your friends to join our community and share theirs. We're trying hard to understand what's happening in Costa Rica and elsewhere. The problem is, no one seems to keep track of the numbers of missing Americans and others in any way that enables us to identify patterns. Our "hot spots" appear to center around Guanacaste (particularly Tamarindo) and the island of Roatan off Honduras. Then, of course, there's Mexico. But that's all based on our families' experiences -- we don't know what we don't know. We'd really appreciate it if you could be one of our "ears on the ground." It's so difficult to separate fact from rumor from spin...
