What is your interest in the Missing Americans Project?
August 2000, to Present: I am a founding member of Dogs South K-9 Search and Rescue, based in Jesup, Georgia. I also am the team leader, search coordinator, K-9 trainer and K-9 handler for trailing, air scent and cadaver detection dogs. I have coordinated and worked my personally trained and nationally certified K-9s: Zena, DeDe and Mick on over 300 searchs throughout the Southern United States including Louisiana in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina and one search in Ecuador, South America. My cadaver dog DeDe and I also worked 6 weeks as a civilian contractor in Iraq searching for bodies of missing soldiers employed by American K-9. My K-9’s and I are experienced in various terrains such as urban, woodland, swampland, water, disaster and landfill. I am proficient in search pre-planning, search management, K-9 handler, GPS usage and usage of GPS/computer mapping of search areas to aid in accurate coverage.
